Holistic management works for farmer

A bit more than a month ago, a farmer from the Graaff-Reinet area wrote to me to ask if he could complete my questionnaire. Of course! But he also sent me a description of his way of farming in the Karoo. I read his article and found it so full of sense and inspiring that I have decided to share it with you, dear readers.

Trenly Spence farms according to what he calls a holistic management approach. That means that he farms WITH Nature rather than against it.

Even if Trenly Spence’s methods may not be applicable everywhere in the Karoo – and especially in the drier parts of the region – the general idea is still valid. FARM WITH NATURE, NOT AGAINST IT!

I am leaving you with his text to read and think about (click on the link below), as well as with a quote from Jim Rohn, American entrepreneur, writer and motivational speaker: “You must take personal responsability. You cannot change the circumstances, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of.”

Thank you to Trenly Spence for sharing his successes with us.
